Biography

I practice humanistic therapy, which is based on the works of Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow, in conjunction with CBT, ACT, and psychodynamic therapy. I believe the role of therapy is to provide a space for clients to learn who they are and how they can be their best self. I aim to support clients’ personal growth through identifying what needs are not currently being met and overcoming barriers to their goals. I strive to build a relationship of trust and understanding with my clients, finding unique solutions to each client’s difficulties. My therapeutic style works best for clients who feel stuck in their difficulties and are seeking guidance on how to achieve their own solutions.

Additionally, I am a specialist in men’s mental health. There are a wide variety of difficulties men face in the path towards wellness, including but not limited to loneliness, relationship difficulties, anger management, feelings of worthlessness, grief, body image dissatisfaction, and stigma of seeking help. I have found that my therapeutic style has connected well with other men, and I have seen many men make significant improvements in their lives and well-being. Additionally, I have expertise in behavioral management of adults with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as ADHD and autism. This includes but is not limited to making and maintaining schedules, developing helpful routines, building skills to improve concentration and focus, and reducing distractions.

While my therapeutic style works well for many clients, it does not work for everyone. Those who are seeking therapists that will directly provide you with solutions or those who are looking for short-term or time-limited therapy may be better suited to other therapeutic styles. Additionally, those who are seeking primarily addiction-related services may be better helped by other clinicians, though I can certainly help with mental and social problems that are worsened by addiction. Finally, I cannot take any clients who are seeking services for court-mandated therapy, services as part of an ongoing divorce or custody proceedings, or any other active legal dispute.

Any progress is good progress, and I would be glad to help you make progress towards your wellness and life goals.
